Christ the King Elementary School is an Archdiocese of Chicago campus that serves about 370 students in prekindergarten through eighth grade.
The school seeks to make its students productive, informed and moral members of contemporary society. With an emphasis on belonging and acceptance, Christ the King features an academically challenging curriculum in the context of a faith-based education. Founded in 1936, the school boasts small class sizes and dedicated teachers. Part of the Christ the King Parish in Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood, Christ the King school takes advantage of the community and service-oriented connections in the neighborhood. Christ the King seeks to develop the whole student, charting them on a path of future success and vitality in higher education and beyond. Students can participate in several activities, including music, drama, student council, Little Eagles, mock trial, and art. Athletics include basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, golf and running. Parents are encouraged to be involved with their child’s education through various volunteer and engagement activities each year.

I cannot recommend this school. The community is an insular one--good luck breaking in--and the kids who are not the super athletic types will fall by the side. Everything from the teachers to the pastor to the technology -- my son has a Promethean board in his room...a Wiki, with problems to do every night and, of course, goes to computer lab every week -- has been first-rate. The best all-around education you could hope to find. Keep up the excellent work...
