The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experiences about Comer is fair because the school has its ups and down with fights and the amount of violence that happens throughout the year. But honestly, I have had the best year besides COVID 19. It was very hard to maintain but us students have pushed throughout the years. Also, being inside this school, the staff isn't supportive.

I liked that Gary Comer was strict but also allowed kids to express how they felt about certain things. My experience at Comer was good.

Gary Comer College Prep has very rigorous coursework as well disciplinary system. They use a system of demerits and merits where 4 demerits equal a 3 hour detention on Fridays when most students are let out at 1:05pm.
