My school time was between 2020-2024 and at that time, we had gone threw 3 different principals. No rules were ever concrete and neither were consequences, which lead to many kids acting out because they knew they could. There were also a lot of issues with miss allocated fund that were spent a useless things (yonder pouches) the really reduced available school funding. This lead to many things that gave our school culture and a sense of fun to be taken away because it couldnt be afforded.

Although the pandemic delayed total high school experience, the staff worked harder to ensure the remaining years were productive. The staff are engaging, encouraging and patient.

Gary Comer College Prep has very rigorous coursework as well disciplinary system. They use a system of demerits and merits where 4 demerits equal a 3 hour detention on Fridays when most students are let out at 1:05pm.
