Lloyd Elementary School is a public school that serves more than 800 students from prekindergarten through fifth grade. The school is named in honor of Henry D. Lloyd, a 19th-century political activist and investigative journalist. The school has earned Chicago Public School’s Level 1 plus designation, which means it is one of the city’s top performing schools. Another accolade Lloyd Elementary has earned is an Early Education Award from Gold Circle of Quality, which recognizes early learning programs that meet or go beyond the highest quality standards. The school ensures core subjects are offered in Spanish to English language learners. Lloyd Elementary School also provides classes in art, music and technology. Soccer and running are offered for students who are interested in athletics. Students can also join a Girls on the Run group and a gardening club. After-school supplemental educations services, or tutoring, are available for students.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I would love to thank Mr. Harris for helping my daughter so much and Mr. G for being the greatest computer...

Its sad to see an excellent teacher (Miss Alvarez) struggle to teach her kids. There are many students in her classroom that need help but the administration seems to not bother with it. Its easier to sweep things underneath the rug. Miss Alvarez and Ms. Sheela are really fantastic teachers and dese...
