Located at 1920 N Hamlin Ave. in Chicago, Marine Leadership Academy (MLA) works with the United States Marine Corps and Chicago Public Schools to develop character, discipline and leadership in middle and high school students. A co-ed college, the Marine Leadership Academy enrolls 824 students with an average class size of 26. Students at MLA follow a Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps curriculum that requires students to study military leadership and character models from seventh to eighth grades. Students pursue cadet rank from eighth to twelfth grades, practicing appropriate grooming and uniform standards typically associated with military troops. MLA academic courses in math, science, reading, history and social studies are taught by military personnel. MLA also supports a varsity wrestling and cheerleading program that emphasizes student extracurricular involvement. Students are taught to value citizenship and prepare for careers in public service while attending MLA. MLA graduates become independent and college-ready adults, and Marine Corps values are instilled in cadets that include honor, courage and commitment. Cadets are expected to exemplify honor by maintaining an "uncompromising code of integrity," and display courage through physical strength and bravery. As evolving military professionals, MLA's cadets are also enduring examples of commitment.

I have had a very good experience at marine Leadership academy, I have made a lot of friends and the teachers have helped me a lot in getting good grades. The best part is the teachers can help you 1 on 1, the worst part is that test are out of 4 points so there's no room for error.

This is school is okay, it has changed a lot. Discipline is not the same as before, it has decreased and it should be changed to how it was before. It's not a bad school though.

Marine leadership academy helps form students into better citizens. This school will teach you so much like French, Spanish and Chinese. I think this school is the best overall and you should want to send your kids there one day.
