Named for the famed meat-packer, Oscar Mayer Magnet School on North Clifton Avenue serves pre-K through eighth grade students. You might reside within the Oscar Mayer Magnet School enrollment area if you live in Lincoln Park, south of DePaul University. There's also a citywide magnet program with lottery enrollment for students who live outside the enrollment area.
Oscar Mayer Magent School's unique academic track starts with Montessori method classes, which continue until third grade. Fourth and fifth grades follow a traditional standards-based program. Sixth through eighth grades begin the Middle Years International Baccalaureate track. Extracurriculars provide various opportunities for students to pursue their interests. The school offers on-the-field and by-the-sidelines sports and athletic opportunities. Options range from soccer to co-ed pom-pom and cheer.
