This is a nice neighborhood school that could be even better with the right leadership. Although students are doing well academically, I wouldn't say they're generally happy to be there. It becomes really rough in 3rd grade and continues a downward trend from there. Most people in the neighborhood won't dare to speak ill of the school out loud, but if you look closely you'll see the signs.

The academic level of this school is too high I use to go to school there; Im now in high school and I've already learned and know the curriculum. I homework load is unbelievable able I would come home crying because of how much homework. I was a kid I was supposed to be playing outside but instead, I had 3 hours of homework in Thrid grade. I got in trouble for throwing up because they thought I was eating in the hallways and this was when I was in first grade, I got in trouble for getting tripped and making the smallest scratch on an iPad, I was given detention for sneezing in the hallway(the school really dusty). Most of the teachers are fine but too strict. The school is not diverse at all and they don't really talk about other cultures except for what the have to teach. There were in total of two black people in the school of about 1,789 students. the school was e34always dirty and the bathroom floors were always wet.

If you only care about academics, this place is for you. Wont lie there. However, there isnt much support here for the whole child. Daily, I see kids crying walking to school, they just dont want to be there. State law says public schools need 30 minutes of recess and this school gives 15. The paren...

Excellent staff. Great principal. The entire staff, including the principal at Mt. Greenwood seem to really care about seeing their students succeed. They're willing to spend extra time with students when they're struggling in a certain area. They're also just genuinely kind. We moved here 6.5 years...
