I attended Powell throughout my elementary school years and I can say that I learned a lot. The teachers were very helpful, and in the school or actually felt like nobody was left behind.

Don't let this 8/10 Score fool you. This school is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Some of the students can barely read but "surprisingly" do well on district and state mandated tests. Some have complained of the administration being overbearing and rude toward parents, teachers, and students. This "...

Overall, Powell Academy was a decent place for my child's education. With that said, however, Powell Academy was riddle with problems. I spent a few time frustrated. The main problem lies partly with CPS( Chicago Public School) set up. This is a K-8. This is not efficient for the upper grade levels,...
