William H. Prescott Elementary School, located near Wrightwood Park, serves kindergarten to eighth grade students and has a literature-and-writing magnet cluster program.
The school boasts strong test scores, awards and a highly credentialed faculty.
It was a National Blue Ribbon Schools Program winner in 2019 and several teachers hold National Board Certifications. Overall, academics focus on meeting or exceeding state standards. The accelerated math track, designed to give all students a chance to reach algebra in eighth grade, is an example of how the school goes above and beyond. A range of fee-based extracurricular options provided through the Right at School program complete the student life experience.
The enrollment area covers most of the area that falls south of Diversey, north of Fullerton, west of Lakewood and east of the North Branch of the Chicago River.
As a magnet cluster school, all students in the attendance zone will be admitted. Students outside the attendance zone can apply for enrollment through a high-demand lottery.
