Sabin Elementary Magnet School is a dual language school administered by the Chicago Public Schools. Serving grades pre-K through eight, the school focuses on literacy, math, science and Spanish-language education to move children to higher performance levels and secondary school readiness. Sabin Elementary was founded in 1915 and named after Albert Robbins Sabin, a Civil War veteran and Chicago Public Schools principal during the late 1800s. For part of the 20th century, Sabin was a junior high but reopened by 1965 as an elementary institution. The school currently serves over 440 students. Sabin Elementary embraces the principle that we are all learners and that the school, the individual student and the community must reinforce and participate in the ownership of educating children. Sabin’s positive, respectful and nurturing environment owes itself to external partners, parent involvement and high-quality teachers. Initiatives include before and after-school programs and several extracurricular and athletics activities, including soccer, basketball and volleyball.

Classes are fun and students get a chance to learn and enjoy each other's company. Most classes offer rigorous wo...

Cons- Sabin is a an average school. Is no longer a Magnet duo Language school. Kids graduate from Sabin not witting in cursive because cursive is not included in the teachers curriculum. Sad to say ! Sabin tends to hire very young teachers that just graduated. with little or no experience. Pros- Man...
