St. Josaphat School is an award-winning Catholic elementary school and preschool with more than a century of history in the Sheffield Neighbors area of Lincoln Park. The school places a priority on — and offers tuition discounts for — active parishioners. The curriculum revolves around faith, service and academics. A range of extracurriculars, enrichment activities and extended-day programs supplement student life. These provide a wide variety of options to focus on social, artistic, scholastic and personal goals. There are also class trips, shows, competitions, ceremonies and other events throughout the year. St. Josaphat School is across the street from the eponymous parish church — the original school building was built in 1913 to make room for a growing student population. The Neoclassical facade features escutcheons, Corinthian capitals and brick pilasters. The less-ornate annex next door was constructed a few decades later.
While ever mindful of history, the St. Josaphat School is far from stuck in the past and focuses on equipping students for success in an ever-changing world. The school has adopted the latest in education technology and many classrooms have iPads, interactive TVs, video projectors and Smart Boards.
