Chicago's Harriet Beecher Stowe Elementary School is located at 3444 W Wabansia Ave. and serves an ethnically diverse group of pre-kindergarten through eighth grade students. A stately brick monolith that takes up several blocks of Wabansia Avenue, Stowe Elementary enrolls 590 students with an average student-to-teacher ratio of 16-to-1.
Stowe Elementary's curriculum is taught in both English and Spanish and the school employs a bilingual education teacher as well as an English as a second language teacher to address the learning challenges of first-time English speakers.
88 percent of Stowe Elementary instructors have been teaching for three years or more. The staff works with students on a personal and individualized level to develop bilingualism and biliteracy among its diverse student body. Using "multiple personalized pathways" to meet their students' scholastic needs, Stowe Elementary staff approaches each student with patience to develop their bilingualism and biliteracy.
Stowe maintains athletic programs in softball, volleyball, soccer, basketball and golf. Students can channel stress and make new friends by attending one of Stowe's creative extracurricular activities like arts and crafts, tech club, art club and yoga.

They need air conditioning!....it's to hot to work under those conditions. I called the school and the lady said there is nothing she can do about it.
