In Glenville, two great schools combined to form Stonebrook-White Montessori. The neighboring campuses of Michael R. White Elementary and Stonebrook Montessori schools merged in 2020, creating a large learning community serving prekindergarten through eighth grade students in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Early education starts in the original Stonebrook Montessori building to the west, and fourth through eighth graders learn in the Michael R. White building to the east.
Developing skills necessary to be successful through a hands-on curriculum is one of Stonebrook's driving philosophies and highlights the importance of the Montessori teaching structure. The collaborative approach uses individualized lessons corresponding to children’s development to create the most natural learning environment possible.
Extracurricular activities for students at Stonebrook-White include the Student Council, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Located near the Cleveland Cultural Gardens and University Circle, the two-building campus provides students with many educational opportunities that expand beyond the classroom. Outside partnerships include Say Yes Cleveland, Famicos Foundation and the Center for Arts-Inspired Learning.
