The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The teachers are amazing and the work prepares the students for college. One thing that I wish was better was the school spirit, a lot of which has to do with the fact that we do not have our own building. People also complain about the amount of homework we get, but if you use your time wisely in class you dont get as much homework as people say. Overal, I love IAM and would go again if I had the chance.

Most of the classes are very "self taught" you are given videos or things online to do on your own and to learn by yourself. There isn't as much teacher student involvement as there is in other schools. However, this prepares one for college. I think that there should be more class options. I classes given are very limited compared to a lot of high schools in the area.

The international academy of macomb (iam) made me feel as though I could enjoy school in the comfort of my peers. At my homeschool I always felt like I was being judged or that me being myself wasn't enough to be respected. At IAM my peers felt similarly about school, the importance of it and tried just as hard as me when it came to our studies. The drive and competitive atmosphere of the IAM made me more excited about school.
I have kids in Dakota high School and IAM and speaking from my personal experience.IAM is a school that puts a lot of emphasis on soft skills such as presentation skills, public speaking, working collaboratively, lots of writing. This is a great school for someone who wants to go into Law, Business,...
The teachers are so nice and helpful as well as the students. And the school has a lot of educational opportunities. With a lot of clubs to join. And they aren't as strict when it comes to dress code or what the students do as long as it doesn't hurt themselves or anybody else.
Overall, I did not enjoy this school. There was a fair amount of pressure and stress that was a struggle. The school did have a few good things too which i did enjoy but the workload and stress was just too much.
This school is one of the scariest but one of the best decisions I have ever made. The curriculum is hard I will admit, but it challenges you in a way that makes you interested and work twice as hard as you would at your home school. I am only a freshman but I have already made the decision to retur...
