Cockeysville Middle School is a public middle school located in Cockeysville, Maryland. It serves sixth through eighth-grade students and is part of the Baltimore County Public Schools system. The school has been open since 1967 and enrolls approximately 1,000 students each year. Class sizes are average for the area. A variety of extracurricular activities and clubs are available for students to get involved in. These include sports teams, chess club, National Junior Art Honor Society and National Honor Society, Robotics, STEM clubs and student council. Multiple after-school musical electives like honors band and choir are only available to students by audition. Students in the honors orchestra, known as Strings of Cockeysville, travel to Hershey Park each year for the Music in the Parks competition. The school also offers an after-school homework help program for students who need extra assistance. One of the unique offerings at Cockeysville Middle School is the Advancement Via Individual Determination program, also called AVID. The intense college preparatory program allows students who qualify to take additional courses to learn about college options and refine interpersonal skills.

Unfortunately, Cockeysville Middle School has become more violent over the years, and as a result, the academics, student safety, and mental health have all suffered. The increase in violence has created an environment where students are more focused on their personal safety than on their education,...

I have been here for a year and the teachers have been wonderful they help out with questions and they don’t give lots of homework. For me learning has been much easier due to all of the kind teachers and students. At Cockeysville we learn languages bump up our reading stamina and respect everyone....

Horrible! I had to meet with multiple administrators and then the head principal to no avail. They are so unorganized and focused on sweeping issues under the rug it's insane.
