Independence high school is wonderful school, but it can have its ups and downs. The school is still standing after being made in 1976, which is good.

I started high school in 2021 when I just came to the United States. I started as a freshman, and it was really hard for me because I just moved to the United States and did not understand English very well and I also did not have any friends. I did not like the fact the students go smoke in the bathroom and other student bring bullied because they from African. but letter on when I was a junior the school changed a lot of stuff which helped the school a lot. like security was added, before entering the school your checked like in the airport, if any student is reported for bullying, they will get expel and there is no fighting anymore. it's always clean now. and the teaches are super supportive. the school lunch is also improved and there are a lot of games to play in classes when we have nothing to do. it is well developed and safe to be there.

my experience with independence high school was overall great I met great staff who cared about my education and me graduating and staying on track to graduate and also as well as my principal he knew every student and make sure they was on track and stayed out of trouble.
