GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I've only been at this school for 2 years, so I don't really have a concrete opinion on this school. Overall, it's been pretty decent. The teachers are nice, the courses are good (I just wish they had photography), and the advisors/counselors have been nothing but helpful. I'm just a bit put off by the lack of diversity. I've had a bit of discrimination by my peers for my identity. Also, the school is kind of falling apart physically. However, I don't blame the school since it can be expensive to fix things nowadays.

South Granville is a school I will still cherish years from now. As any school, we have had rough times. One of the biggest was protesting to keep it open but we have experiences I would never get anywhere else. I love the small town factor of knowing everyone and never doubting if I can be myself. A thing I would like to see change at my school is better food quality. We did receive a grant of free school lunch for my current semester but the food seems so bad I am always hesitant to eat it. It's very unhealthy and seems very rushed to be put together.

This school as been one of the worst schools my daughter has attended. The communication between counselors and students is little to none. She has a 4.2 and has to send multiple emails in order for the counselor to respond to get advice on academic planning for the upcoming semester. Once we do get a reply she doesn't answer ANYTHING ! There is almost no direction as it pertains VGCC classes and what classes coincide/replace high school classes. The school allows students to be bullies with no consequences. The amount of anxiety my daughter has from school alone is heart-wrenching and no one seems to care about any of the other students if they are not athletes. This district has made it had for new families coming into the area and I can't not wait until her time has concluded.P
