WAHS is a fun and welcoming environment for all, we pride ourselves in our sports (and our attendance at the games). Additionally, the school is made of up of many focused individuals and provides a rigorous curriculum when desired. Most teachers are kind and helpful.

I generally enjoyed high school. I was a part of the cheerleading team for three years and loved it. The students are great and even though the football team isn't that good everyone still comes out and supports. We have a bunch of activities throughout the year and it is really just fun. My senior year I'm focusing on sports photography which I made into a club my junior year. I'm loving it so much and the school has helped me plan things out. Classes do challenge me and the teachers are good most of the time. I feel a hundred percent safe at school and I couldn't be happier I attended Western Albemarle High School.

My experience with Western Albemarle high school has been very great. I highly respect and appreciate all of my teachers and counselors because they have helped me to get to the point where I am today and are always there to support me. For the majority of my time here I have always felt confident and comfortable with coming to any adult in my school and asking for help or whenever I'm in need of support. They give the best advice and make me feel safe during times when I feel alone in my social bubble at school, so if it weren't for my counselors: Mrs. Poole and Mrs. Padron for helping me with my mental health as well as my college future and my former teacher, Mr. peters, I would not have been where I am today. Their support is something I will always cherish.

This school and county are the worst! From the superintendent down to the teachers there really should be a complete overhaul. They do not care about the children's education and well being. I had one child struggling in a class. All year I reached out to the teacher and counselors for help only to...

As a grandparent and parent of two Western Albemarle alumni, I am still a big fan! Leadership starts at the top - the principal and athletic director/staff are fully present at all events. The extra-curricular events are well-supervised, planned, and attended. Students are engaged, with curious eye...
