Davis Senior High is a good public high school. They prepare you well for college and the culture is very intense.

Im currently a senior at Davis Senior High. I cheer, which was a big part of high school in the beginning of the year. Was super fu into be apart of the team and involved in the school in that way. But academic wise, it gets overwhelming and stressful. Keeping my up with lacks of sleep to catch up on.

I highly appreciate all the work that the staff puts in, but the school's overall environment is competitive and stressful. My main issues: - A very narrow view of what constitutes a "good student" - if you're not STEM inclined, good luck - The amount of busy work in certain classes; this doesn't help us learn or prepare for college - it just stresses us out and is completely unnecessary - A lot of students seem to have mental health issues and I don't think the school really goes beyond the bare minimum to address this - It is very hard to make new friends because the environment does not foster group work or communication skills. Even recreational activities are more for people in preexisting friend groups to bond with each other than for individuals to make new friends Although there's a lot of great teachers and good aspects of this school, I don't think the environment overall is healthy. Of course, this may not be the case for everyone, but imo there's many issues to address.

Davis High is a great school with great teachers. My son is a senior and has had a great experience. Competition is pretty high as the town (Davis) is a small community with a very large University of California campus, and thus is filled with parents who have advanced degrees and very high academic...

Two years here and numerous incidents jeopardizing my child's health. If you have a child with special needs of any sort, this is not the school for your family. They are too busy, disorganized, and unprofessional to handle anything other than the "typical" student and there is a very apparent disco...
