The best times of my high school experiences were with the sports programs and events. And the class was called house. We had house games where our house teams would compete for the house cups in various events.

At Hayes High School some of my best experiences in the class rooms were during our "house" period. This was a period that we were able to play games and connect with each other as well as focus on school work. At the end of the year each of out eight houses came together playing multiple games to win to see what the best house was. This was a fun experience for students and really brought everyone together. Another great experience I had at Hayes was participating on the fall cheer team. This was an amazing opportunity that really connected me more with the school. One big thing I'd like to see change in the school is allowing the special needs kids to be more involved throughout the school.

I love my school and my teachers. However, the administration is not always the best or in the best interest of the students. I think they could work more on mental health and suicide prevention. But, the teachers are always great and there for the students.

I would not recommend Hayes HS. The basic requirements of students are no longer enforced. We had to get it added to our daughter’s 504 so that she wasn’t allowed to turn her homework in late and get full credit. A few weeks after this, we changed it to no longer than a week. Then her cell phone was...

My daughter's experience in Delaware City Schools has been positive (5th grade to senior year). In fact, it's the primary reason I've stayed in the area and ultimately, it's the reason I'm opting to purchase a home in the area. I feel she has been supported in her extracurricular pursuits and has ha...
