Over a seven-year period, the school committed to improving its scores in reading, writing and math. It expanded academic offerings and created an exceptional environment for students overall social and emotional well-being. As a result, the Golden Eagles are proud to proclaim their current status as a green-rated school. The school reached this status through a combination of small group instruction, online resources such as the i-Ready math program, and community and family involvement. To promote literacy, Oakland Elementary partners with the Carmel Hill Fund Education Program for support in the form of classroom libraries and technology. STEM enrichment programs are offered during and after school, supported by community organizations. The school partners with Music-Colorado for an exceptional music program. Of course, the school recognizes the benefits of outdoor play. The campus features two well-designed playgrounds for different ages and abilities, a colorful basketball court, a baseball field and pavement art to encourage imaginative games. Teachers and staff members embrace everyone in the community. The staff dedication is amazing. Teachers and administration are respectful, helpful and students feel safe at Oakland. Instruction is amazing.
