Dewitt high schools gives you a great experience, but does not entirely prepare you for college. There is not a lot of guidance or structure in the curriculum.

There are a number of teachers at DHS that have stayed long past the amount of time they should have. for example: Bill Philips and Todd Pagels are two teachers who should have been let go years ago. They are two old men who have been known to make the female students at DHS feel uncomfortable, whether it's through actions or words. Philips is known to tell inappropriate stories in both of his classes, even if they have nothing to do with the class.

I enjoyed most of my time at Dewitt. They offered great classes with many great teachers. The students had a lot of school spirit which really helped the athletic side of things. Some teachers and administration did not do all they could for our students and some were rude and it made it a not fun environment.

Very few schools in the state compare to the overall experience that DeWitt High School has. The academics are outstanding, athletics consistently produces winning teams and the arts are top notch. My kids have had an excellent academic experience. While we have had one teacher that was not top notch, the rest have been above expectations (That is good odds). I'm glad I'm not the only paren that sees through the hiding district. The schools'/district's NUMBER ONE CONCERN is THEMSELVES (read: LIABILITY).
