There's a lot to like about Byrnes. Mainly how dedicated the people are in things like band and the different sports. The art programs are great and getting yourself on your feet if you have never had much experience in it, and the teachers are almost always available to help in whatever way they can.

I love Byrnes Freshman Academy. When I moved to Duncan, I attended D.R. Hill Middle School, where I was bullied constantly by the teachers and by the students.

The only thing most parents care about and show support for are the sports. If parents are involved with their child's grades it sure doesn't show.

The building is depressing. There are more water stains than students. Enthused students were a rarity before covid, though covid was handled well. I felt engaged, as a parent. It was not the worst way to spend one year, but kids deserve better. The bathrooms reeked of teen sweat and despair. Additi...

I hate this school because the principals put the blame on you and not the person who’s in the wrong. My friend got ISS for putting her phone away but a bully didn’t get ISS or any punishment really.
