Twin Lakes Elementary serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade in the northeast corner of Mountain View. Established in 1986, it is a member of the Mountain View School District and the newest school in the system. The school’s mascot is the Comet, named after Halley’s Comet, because the solar system object was visible from Earth the year the school was founded.
Twin Lakes is home to an innovative Mandarin Chinese and English Dual Immersion Program for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students. Pupils receive Mandarin Language lessons three times a week , while the program also includes workshops for parents.
The school provides online supplementary instruction for independent learning, reading and math. Students can participate in several activities during the academic year including a Children’s Day Parade, spirit week and performing arts events. The school has an award-winning recycling club, as Twin Lakes won the city’s school recycling program award six years in a row.
Twin Lakes prides itself on its Peace Builder program, which provides guidelines for teaching students how to interact with each other in a peaceful and supportive manner.

Very unprofessional staff, I am Asian and I don’t feel welcome at this school. I notice the staff that are outside supervising in the mornings are very selective on who they greet. Not just with me but with other parents as well. Rude staff.
