GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Small town living and small school. I have loved my time in High School. I would like more consistency with discipline of unruly students in order for those wanting to learn to be given more attention.

Elwood Jr-Sr HS is a good school. Sure, there are better, there are always better, Elwood has a tightly-knit community full of great (and not-so-great) people. The faculty is filled with fun and engaging teachers that make learning even the most boring of topics fun. The food, while not the best, is plentiful and quite good. You'll have a hard time not fitting in here, as there's a group for you somewhere in this school.

Elwood schools are a really good option for the majority of students. If you have special needs they are accommodating. The teachers really care about students and the Career center is also a great option.

This school doesn't care about students, they are laughed at,made fun of behind their backs by staff. And if the child has learning issues or if a different race the child doesn't stand a chance in this school system .If you have another option please take it. Don't put your child through the pain of...

Elwood Community High School is ranked by US News and World Report at #70 in the state of approximately 700 high schools and is a bronze award winner. Higher than Tipton, Alexandria and Frankton in mathematics proficiency.

if you do well you advance. If you struggle at all you are given material to help you pass the course, but not learn the course. School vision does fit the community. Common Core material is widespread through out the curriculum.
