Bishop Elementary is a small, inclusive, diverse elementary school educating students from kindergarten to grade 6. Approximately 230 students attend Bishop, and classes are held in person and remotely on a rolling basis. The campus is located at 3100 South Elati Street, Englewood. Bishop’s vision is to educate the whole child by creating a positive learning culture and developing social-emotional learning through Restorative Practices and PBIS--Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. These practices help students manage emotions, set goals, and learn empathy. The Bishop Bears start their day with a warm welcome and a hot breakfast. After regular academics, students participate in alternating art, music, PE, and STEAM specials or head to the library to read. Students can participate on the Health and Wellness team and engage in sports and healthy eating habits. Afterschool clubs in Lego and Orchestra are available, as well as before and after-school child care. Other services include transportation, hot lunch, special education, gifted education, and culturally and linguistically diverse services. Parents are encouraged to volunteer and join the parent and community committee.

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

This school doesn't provide followup on plans made and the principle seems willing to damage kids records by suspending them and protecting the bullies. No proper education for kids with disabilities. Class sizes are too large and the staff and teachers seemed over whelmed. Serious issues with bulli...

Bishop is a small community school and our daughter has felt welcome and loved here. The school staff and teachers have worked hard to raise scores and student performance over the past few years. They also provide extra work to keep our daughter growing in areas she is more advanced. The new buildi...
