Founded in 1962 as Raleigh’s first integrated high school, Enloe High (Enloe) is a highly sought-after magnet school serving approximately 2,600 gifted and talented students in the King Charles neighborhood of east Raleigh. It offers a 17:1 student-teacher ratio, an international baccalaureate (IB) program rich with electives, extracurriculars and more than 30 sports teams. Enloe prides itself on its variety of choices from advanced placement to eight world languages, and an enviable arts program including chorus, piano, dance and orchestra. Enloe is the only Wake County high school offering robotics classes, and other electives such as marine biology, genetics and sports medicine. Enloe students even produce their own live TV show that has been nominated for an Emmy. Despite the school’s size and array of choices, students and alumni often mention that Enloe focuses on building a community where everyone belongs. With a 94% graduation rate, and abundance of resources, Enloe is well-equipped to help prepare students for bright futures. However, the school remains humble at heart, serving a student body where one-third qualify for free lunch. In order to give back, part of the Enloe tradition is to host a now-famous charity ball that, since its inception, has raised over $1 million to help support homeless teenagers. At Enloe, your student can discover many ways to make the most of a host of opportunities.

I loved going to this high school because of some of the teachers that I had. One in particular was my math teacher, she just really motivated me to do more and live up to my potential.

The best part about Enloe is the abundance of clubs, activities, and electives they have to offer. They have something for everyone and it allows students to try new things and meet people with similar interests.

My best experiences in this school are the extra curriculars. My worst parts were having a no good teacher.

The real challenge for Enloe, as with all NC public schools, is that it has been systematically defunded by the state government. And we are now diverting money that could go to teacher raises or improved facilities to private school vouchers. So when I see complaints about instructor quality I reme...

This is a very large school. When I was young, I went to a big high school too, so this wasn't intimidating. However, I can understand why some families might feel that way. One of the biggest drawbacks about Enloe are the STEM teachers. My student is a good student, but unfortunately had several ST...

My child is a Senior and even though he is still happy to go to school, he has had teachers that have been awesome but a few that just didn’t care. Despite me trying to contact one of the teachers with no response. I know there are many students but my child is not finding the support he needs. More...
