From classroom antics, to making new friends, to helping create my school's first student run coffee shop, Lake Forest High School has provided me with experiences I will cherish forever. It's unfortunate to say however, that I don't believe the school has fully prepared me for what to expect in the real world. Some students take the time to disrupt class making it difficult for the students who want to learn, learn anything at all. Every student has their favorite teacher or staff member whom they can go to for anything. When it comes to teaching, very few teachers have the ability to gage with their students and make lessons enjoyable. Most clubs and pathway classes tend to be underfunded, having to raise their own money to provide any special materials. The general environment is extremely hectic, large numbers of students disobey staff. Our school has 360 degree cameras, hallways monitors, and no bathroom doors. While LFHS isn't perfect its students always support each other.

Lake Forest High School is not all bad. The only truly terrible part about the school and it's atmosphere and cultural balance. Many times the leading motive of the schools success is through the football team, agricultural scene, and business trips. It's very difficult to feel valued with little or no recognition at all.

My experience at Lake Forest High School has been from a beginning ranking of okay to not so good. The minority rating is very low. It creates grounds for a lot of stereotyping, racism, and disrespect. The experience with the teaching staff has also varied throughout the years. I have been fortunate to have a minimal amount of good teachers who genuinely cared about the student and seeing that student succeed.

This school has issues of smoking, drug users, and kids who disrupt the classroom setting. The sports are not great and some of the teachers are not agreeable. However, quite a lot of high schools experience problems similar to these. There will always be students who do not act the way they should,...

My son needed 24 credits to graduate from previous De. School & they require 27 credits. My son had to be withdrawn due to being his Senior year & would of only got 251/2 credits. So he would of had to repeat his Senior year for 11/2 credits. Children that come from another school to a school that r...
