GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

This school does not take students physical, emotional and mental well being very seriously. Bullying came from not only students, but faculty as well. Many teachers were harsh to struggling students. I found college was better at supporting students for success. I can say the one good thing about this school is the post secondary options, take college classes in place of High School classes.

This high school does try and help you in anyway that you need them to. There was a lot of changes that was happening when I left.

Very good academic opportunities for this area but diversity is lacking (however, this cannot be controlled because of city demographics)

I have two students, one with special needs and one who is neurotypical. Their experiences have been different, but very good. Very pleased with the teachers. Music program can't be beat!

Being a somewhat larger school, it is able to offer a great variety of specialized, college prep, honors and advanced level co...

As a parent of 2 children that attended FHS, I must say this school is one of the worst. From drugs, gangs and bullying to being severely understaffed. Not to mention the chaotic open lunches and lack of caring and teaching skills from many faculty members, this is not somewhere you want to send you...
