The magnificence of the Jackson Preparatory School is spread over 84 acres of land close to Lakeland Drive. The space is put to good use as the school boasts beautiful architecture and sports fields. The exterior and interior designs show quality taste, and this taste is clearly shown in the curriculum with which their students are developed and prepared for college.
Founded in 1970, the school now has about 700 students enrolled across fifth to twelfth grades. With an 85-member faculty, students are well catered for in terms of diverse subjects including languages, ancient cultures, chemistry, biology, the arts and more. Some of these subjects are presented as electives to speak to the interests of the scholars. The academic, athletic and artistic performances of enrollees at “Prep”, as it is fondly called, have been noteworthy over the years. From prestigious college scholarships, recurrent championship title holders and constant MAIS All Sports Awards winners to show choirs drawing people from far and near, the faculty and the provision of needed equipment and infrastructure contribute to the success of Prep's students.
Programs like the Global Leadership Institute and the voluntary community service are initiatives of Jackson Preparatory School that, in addition to academic achievements, assure graduates of the school leave with enviable resumes and portfolios. Students also have a wide array of extracurricular activities to get involved in including the school newspaper, literary magazine and fine art and science clubs.

Jackson Prep is a tremendous school academically, however when it comes to the social environment of the school, it is easy to feel like you aren't good enough or that you're somewhere you don't belong. There are obvious issues with students which stay unresolved due to their parent's funding of school programs, and the student's behavior is reprimanded with a simple detention; don't worry though, if you have the money you'll be okay.

I loved the many different opportunities that were given to the students academically and sports wise. Especially the large amount of freedom and independence that the school trusted us with.

I love Prep. I came to Prep in eighth grade after being bullied out of Brandon Middle School and was welcomed with open arms. The teachers here care about their students, taking time to work with them one-on-one and make sure they are where they need to be while holding them to the highest standard. The school does everything it can to make sure everyone is included in everything they do, and gives outlets for students to express themselves. I couldn't picture myself anywhere else.
