The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

As a member of the band and colorguard, the worst experience I had was being under appreciated and not given the same opportunities as other sports had. The best part was getting experience in real life situations that will prepare me for the future. I would like to see the arts get more support for their accomplishments in the future.

The best parts of the fort was the pep rallies and the school spirit. The not so good is some of the teachers aren't so nice. The other good parts are the nice school administration.

My experience at Fort Walton Beach High School was good. I feel like it was the best high school in the area. Overall really great teachers and staff. Not too much homework so I could still have a life outside of school.

We love FWBHS. Hands down this school has some serious school spirit and has brought a different side of my child out. This is what High School years should be all about. This school is amazing for Academics and their Athletic departments. Truly offers both without favoring one over the other.

As a parent with three children at FWBHS at the same time...I have absolutely no complaints! Our kids love the school, are happy they are there instead of other local school options and are excelling in every area! Go Vikes!

I would have to rate my experience below average. There are many great teachers, administrators and dedicated personnel at FWBHS. However, this school is overcrowded and underfunded. As a Destin, FL resident with no high school in our city, our children go from A+ elementary and middle schools to ha...
