The staff at Powers-Ginsburg is committed to innovative approaches to address challenges. When yard aides faced recess conflict, the staff instituted structured recess, pairing upper grade levels with primary grades. Fifth graders are paired with third graders, for example, which also provides leadership opportunities for the older students. Parent and community involvement are encouraged at the school, which hosts bi-monthly Community Coffee Hours with school administrators. Attendees also enjoy grade level performances. The Powers-Ginsburg Parent Foundation offers opportunities for planning, organizing, and volunteering with school activities, including fundraisers to support education programs such as field trips, assemblies, award programs, and supplemental classroom supplies. The Parent Foundation sponsors fundraisers throughout the school year in order to raise funds that help support the educational program for all students, including fieldtrips, assemblies, incentives, rewards, and supplemental classroom supplies, Powers-Ginsburg Elementary is dedicated to developing character and positivity in each of its students, as well as preparing them for academic success.
