Graduated a couple years back. Troy is academically stellar and does a great job of preparing students for university. It is fairly competitive though.

Troy has a really good honors program, with really dedicated teachers. The teachers want the students to do well, especially on AP tests. They also have a plethora of afterschool activities, sich as band or NJROTC

So far my experience at Troy high school has been enlightening to say the least. Some classes are definitely more challenging than others and you need to have a drive for success in order to flourish in some classes. The workload can vary from day to day. Sometimes you will have to dedicate a serious amount of time to getting work done. It is also key to stay organized and have a planner listing all assignments of the day. If you are looking to take some challenging classes then it is a good idea to also have at least one or two classes where you know the workload will be easy for you to accomplish. Overall taking challenging classes will ultimately make you a better student and you will definitely obtain better study habits in order to keep up with the rigor of the class. Every teacher is different and you may have to adjust different study habits depending how they teach. It's a good idea to make friends it the same classes to help with studying and understanding topics better.
