Snug within a quiet residential community, Highland Park Elementary has been teaching children in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade as part of the Gilbert Public Schools District since 2006. At this A+ School of Excellence, young minds can thrive in all areas with a philosophy that infuses social and emotional learning to help students become more confident and secure well-rounded individuals. Through a rigorous curriculum, students at Highland Park earn test scores in reading and math that are significantly above the district and state averages, often helping the school to rank in the top 15% of elementary schools in Arizona. Here, advanced students can participate in an accelerated learning program where they can learn concepts that are one grade level ahead of their peers. Anyone can develop musical skills in band, strings or music, or share their talents in performances for each grade level. Outside of the classroom, students can also participate in a wide range of enrichment activities including chess, dance, music, science, LEGO engineering, Kinder Robotics, Young Rembrandts and beginners sports training, among others offered seasonally. Highland Park also integrates field trips at every grade level and gives students plenty of opportunities to shine in front of the community at school musicals or special events throughout the year.

Cannot say enough good about this school. Just walk through the halls and see the bright colorful murals and the happy faces of the staff to understand how amazing this school culture is. Just had my first IEP meeting and cried happy tears throughout it instead of sad angry tears. The teachers here...

This school is very clique-y. The teachers have a very toxic “behind the scenes” culture where they bad talk other students and parents and staff. Obviously this is not ALL teachers but a great majority are not truly for the students and helping their experience.

This is our second year at highland park. My child is thriving and really enjoys school. The culture at this school is warm and welcoming. The principal is incredibly friendly and helpful. Staff so far have been professional, informative, and a pleasure to be around when on campus.
