Mesquite Junior High School is a public school in Gilbert serving students in seventh and eighth grades. In Mustang Country, community awareness is taught to students in order to build civic-minded pupils and leaders. As a member of the Gilbert Public Schools District, the curriculum centers around STEM, language arts and social studies. A P.R.I.D.E. program is available for use as a study hall, tutoring or special lessons session to ensure all students are successful. Mesquite Junior High School offers an honors program for accelerated learners, while special education is also available.
Clubs and electives help make campus life memorable, and fine arts are offered to develop the students artistically. There are seasonal competitive sports offered including soccer, cross country and cheerleading. Mesquite Junior High School has a chapter of the National Junior Honor Society on campus, promoting academic success. The school’s chess club encourages the use of logic while the code club prepares students for a high-tech workforce. Digital citizenship is offered to educate the students about online safety and responsibility, while parents are encouraged to remain involved in their student’s education through a parent hub. With these being our first school year at Mesquite Jr, it’s going very well. My son’s teachers make it exciting for the students to learn and have a good rapport with them. I feel like it takes a special kind of person to teach 12-14 year olds, and the teachers at Mesquite Jr. do a rest job at that....

Before my daughter started junior high I was hearing horror stories, however, the School is great !!! It all depends on the student, if you want to succeed you work hard it pays off. If not, too bad don't blame the school for our failures.
