As the Home of the Prospectors since the 1980s, Pioneer Elementary School has been inspiring children in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade as part of the Gilbert Public Schools District. As an A+ School of Excellence, this local landmark has grown to be a positive influence on the surrounding community in and out of the classroom.
Here, students consistently test above the district average in math and reading and well above the state average, helping Pioneer rank as a top elementary and middle school in Arizona. In addition to a core curriculum, students can further develop their minds and creativity in art, music, band and strings, or hone motor skills and find team camaraderie in physical education. Gifted education and special education services are also available for students to thrive at their own pace.
After school, students can pursue interests in a wide range of enrichment activities including art, beginner sports training, robotics, chess and dance among other district offerings to prepare them for extracurriculars in high school.
To keep all Prospectors engaged throughout the year, Pioneer Elementary hosts book fairs, fundraisers, field trips, movie nights, plays, spirit weeks and all kinds of fun events to help kids feel like kids, even as they grow and learn.

I had two children go through Pioneer and we loved the school. Most of the teachers and staff have been there a long time which says a lot about the leadership of the school. The open campus was so great for the sunshine and fresh air. My kids were well-prepared for the challenges of junior high.
