My experience at Glencoe-Silver Lake High School was very good. I was involved in three sports and still found enough time for my schoolwork. The facilities were just renovated and are very much improved. It was a great school to attend.

Throughout my four years here I've noticed that people are treated different by the staff depending on what they do for sports, activities or how their grades are. To me that is not okay and everyone should be seen differently but not given more/less privileges than another. Going here also made me realize most parents, teachers and students are more worried about sports than an actual education.

As a former gifted student who transferred, all I can say is this district is a living hell. The staff is narrowminded and barely cares about their classes. Bullying and uncaring staff. This school has a very "good ole boys" mentality. Don't expect to fit in if you are new to the area. The school needs to be more focused on teaching the kids grammar than being so focused on sports. You are graduating kids who can't spell our write properly. Way to go GS...
