GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I was happy overall with my experience at GHS. The teachers there really care about the kids and not just academically. They help you through things that you are going through and give you guidance to work through personal stuff too. They are there to make sure you're a well rounded student.

The quality of education at GHS is impressive: I'm satisfied with the curriculum in most subjects, and so far I haven't had a teacher who doesn't have a visible passion for their job and students. I've also enjoyed the diversity of subjects at GHS; it's not every day you see a school that offers classes in graphic novels and women's literature. Also - and while I don't use these myself - I am glad that GHS offers vocational courses to those who want to go straight into the workforce. It's good that the administration is considering the different needs of the student body. I would like to see more funding toward the art and theatre departments, as they are comparatively overlooked. I would also like the administration to look into the possibility of some kind of study period; I feel that, given both the workload that students have and the fact that many of us are involved in extracurriculars, this would aid in productivity.

There are mostly very good teachers and course levels are of expected difficulty. Resources such as the library end up being extremely helpful.
