Established in 1982 as a division of the Grace Lutheran Church, Grace Lutheran School is a highly rated, private Christian school located at 5172 W. McFadden Ave., in the city of Huntington Beach. The school enrolls approximately 400 students and serves students from preschool through eighth grade. Home of the Lightning Bolts, Grace Lutheran is a fully accredited school providing a faith based educational program designed to strengthen each student’s academic strengths and deepen their spirituality. The school’s curriculum is based upon the core subjects of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, as well as social studies, reading and religious studies. Additional classes include art, music/band, computers, foreign languages and physical education. Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities and have a variety of classes from which to choose including competitive sports, chess, the Lego Engineering Club and student council. Classroom sizes are small for greater teacher/student interaction. There are several school sponsored field trips and classroom parties, all of which parents are encouraged to join. Grace Lutheran sponsors a full-service summer camp that has been in operation for more than 26 years and is dedicated to providing youth with experiences of summer camp that will bring positive memories that will last a lifetime.
