Grand Rapids University Preparatory Academy, located at 512 S. Division Ave., is a public magnet school 1.2 miles northwest of Madison Area in Grand Rapids, Michigan. At Grand Rapids University Preparatory Academy, sixth through twelfth grade students have the opportunity to take advanced placement coursework and exams, giving them an academic advantage when compared to other schools. At 16-to-1, the student-teacher ratio is below the national standard, providing students with a more intimate classroom experience.
One of 13 public high schools in the Grand Rapids Public Schools system, this school provides students access to more than 40 athletic and extracurricular programs and is a member of the Michigan High School Sports Athletics Association.

I have been at Uprep sense the 6th grade and my over all experence was good. There have been times where i have thought about leaving but i knew i wouldnt find a communicty quite like the one at Uprep. I grew up with my friends in this school and we grew with the staff as well.The school isnt buitl like others its a different structure then what you would think. They have a different way of incorperating fun for us . My bad experiences here were never about the school itself or the staff it was because of the students but thats a whole other thing in itself. This school has taught me a lot in personal ways as well as knowleg about other things.Things i would like to see change is just the way the school is set up. I would like to see this school get a gym and a proper lunch room. I would like to see the health class evolve because I know people like gym class they like physical activity. Over all im glad to say that im gonna be graduating from University Preptory Academy.

I have attend Grand Rapids University Preparatory Academy since 6th grade and I am now a senior. My experience here has been nothing but amazing. They make sure to push the seniors to apply to as many colleges and as many scholarships as possible. Our counselors also make more then enough time to meet with us one on one to help us with our college applications. Uprep is also a good school environment where almost everyone knows each other. I have truly met some of the best people at this school as well. All the teachers also make sure to push you to your hardest and make you strive to do your best.

Grand Rapids University Preparatory Academy Is a very diverse and LGBTQ+ safe school. They have many opportunities with college classes and Ap classes. They make high school students take internships and help grow their experience.
