Belvidere Elementary is a public school tucked away in southern Grandview, just south of Hwy 150. About 360 students from kindergarten through fifth grade attend Belvidere Elementary. With approximately 29 teachers and 13 support staff, there is a student-to-teacher ratio of less than 13:1.
At Belvidere, students are called scholars, and the school sets high expectations for its student body. Its mission is to provide an environment that will “meet the academic, physical, emotional, and social needs” of students and create life-long learners.
Through the school’s partnership with the Local Investment Commission (LINC), Belvidere students can participate in a variety of sports such as basketball, soccer and baseball, as well as dance, 4-H and other extracurricular activities.
Belvidere Elementary provides other avenues for student involvement, such as the Walking Club and Student Council. Students can also join the First Lego League, where students use math, science and technology to design a functional robot — out of Legos. These students are affectionately known as the Belvidere RoboCats. Belvidere Elementary also offers students the opportunity to participate in the National Elementary Honor Society.

I have two going on three kids in Belvidere and every year my kids get upset to leave for the summer. The teachers really do care and I trust leaving my kids with them!!

I think Belvidere is the best maintained elementary school in the district. The school is cleaner and brighter than the others. My son has attended Belvidere since 1st grade and every teacher has showed they care a great deal about his education.
