Grandview Middle School sits in the northeast section of Grandview and is one of two middle schools in the district. It serves over 600 students in sixth, seventh and eighth grades. The school employs approximately 42 teachers and strives to foster an environment “where respect and responsibility are hallmarks” of the school.
Part of the mission and vision of Grandview Middle is to “increase student achievement through research-based instruction” — and the school certainly delivers. Students at Grandview Middle have historically scored higher in science and English/language arts than the district average.
Aside from a stimulating academic environment, students have access to a full range of arts, clubs and extracurricular activities, including choir, band, theater and the National Junior Honor Society.
For more athletically driven students, Grandview Middle offers a variety of sports. Football, volleyball, basketball, cheerleading and track are some of the many sports that students can participate in.
Grandview Middle is supported by the Local Investment Commission (LINC), which provides before- and after-school programs focused on youth development and academic achievement. Through LINC, students can enjoy even more activities, like the chess club, 4-H and field trips.
