Life A New Preparatory Academy, also called LAPA, is a private school and nursery for infants, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and elementary students. It’s located in northeast Grandview near Longview Lake. LAPA seeks to ignite passion in its students while instilling a sense of responsibility and honor for God. Its mission is to “promote the spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of each child.”
LAPA utilizes the Abeka curriculum for their preschoolers and the Abeka program in conjunction with the Bob Jones curriculum for elementary students. Aside from well-rounded academics, LAPA also has a computer lab, where students learn math, English, and computer competency skills.
LAPA also has community partnerships with Harvesters, the Nelson Atkins Museum, and others to add art, culture, and history-related field trips into the curriculum. Life A New Preparatory Academy averages between 30 and 50 students, and with four teachers, students get individual attention that is far above average.
LAPA believes in the power of parent involvement, which is why they have a Parent Teacher Fellowship that keeps the parents connected to the school—and one another—and helps fundraise for the school.
