I love the teachers and faculty at Hawley High School. They have taught me almost everything I know and have shaped me into who I am today.

I loved that we had Ag classes and FFA, some of our area schools do not and I think it is very important to keep that. Something I would like to see change is the favoritism in the arts (i.e. band, choir, drama). Kids with real talent tried hard but never got the chance to showcase their talent because of the favorites getting everything, when your mom calls in that you didn't get a certain part and then they change it that is not fair to the other students.

I had moved to Hawley, MN from California a week before my Junior year had started. As anyone would be for their first day of school in a new town and even a new state, I was extremely nervous. It was a complete change from where I had attended school from before. The grade system was completely harder and I struggled for the longest time. My teachers pushed and pushed me and showed me that if I worked hard enough everything would pay off. Making friends was easy, everyone welcomed me with open arms.

This district offers individual attention, but at the same time offers students with a variety of courses and has a great deal of advanced coursework as well. The staff and administration are excellent and will do anything to help the students succeed.
