Home of the Hummingbirds, Holmquist Elementary opened in 2007 with halls decorated in the school colors of light blue and yellow. This highly regarded institution is a public school located in the Briar Village neighborhood of Houston, Texas.
The school is named after David Holmquist, who worked 29 years for the Alief Independent School District. Holmquist held various titles such as football coach, business educator and coordinating principal. The school is proud to offer a variety of academics and extracurriculars to help students discover their interest and talents.

I have three kids at this school and never had a single problem. Holmquist is their second home. The affection and positive energy the staff gives to every student from the front door till the classroom have a magical impact. The principal is also excellent
