this school is such an embarrassment to go to. i do not feel safe in the environment of the school because of the fact that I have seen multiple people get arrested, shot up, or with the cops. i feel as though i am in an unsafe society and sometimes i get too scared to go to my classes where i stay home. the school has also had multiple fires and events of which i am able to sense drugs/alcohol around me. i also feel that the academics are not up to par with other schools inwhich my friends attend. although i do not think that i am safe in this school, the teachers and arts program, specifically, are extremely helpful and interesting to experience and partake on. in other words, other art programs such as dance or choir, are not half as interesting or exciting to experience. thus, i think this school is clearly unsafe and unable to keep students healthy and safe, but also good for those who are successful or wish to be successful in the theatre arts.

most teachers there are very nice and some barely give work. unless they are ms.solodyna or ms.khan. when you get there in 6th grade the only hard part is adjusting in the first few months, the it's fine. 7th grade is probably the hardest especially if you are in activities. 8th grade is easy unless you have algebra and that is the only hard class. the magnets are alright, theatre isn't that good.

I had a great time at Johnston Middle School in the early 1980s There were good school - teachers and my friends were my friends. Never a single problem. Nobody had a cell phone then - they had not been invented then.

I was extremely bullied at this school, through both random hate and targeting. This school is very rough, with drug use, disrespect to teachers, etc. Several of the teachers are very strange, pinning kids to walls, etc. This is not a great school, but it's survivable I suppose.

Overall, this school comprises highly qualified teachers, but there are a few who should find another profession as they hurt the academic progress of students. A few teachers employed at this school are sarcastic, scream at students often, and put students down.Administrators do not have a clue wha...

Amazing school. Our son chose Johnston as a magnet in choir and orchestra. The teachers are very good and the GT class work is rigorous. As for the magnet classes they are even more rigorous and students who fail to comply with the high standards lose their eligibility. I know many parents are conce...
