When dedicated teachers founded this school in 1997, they realized that it’s easier for children to learn when they are having fun. The concept of teaching through joyful interaction became the focus of the private school. All kindergarten through eighth grade students attending this school have learning differences, and most have struggled in traditional classrooms.
Faculty at The Joy School help students understand themselves as learners, speak up and develop confidence. Small classes of only seven or eight students make it easy for teachers to provide one-on-one assistance, and the school employs full-time speech-language pathologists for students who need them.
