Rated as one of the top-performing middle schools in the state, Hudson Middle School offers 1,000 students a uniquely-structured learning environment designed to build meaningful relationships. Grade levels at HMS are divided into "learning communities," creating a dynamic "school within a school" atmosphere. Each year, students are redistributed among the communities offering them the opportunity to meet new students and form new friendships. Each community provides balanced language arts, math, science and social studies programs. In 8th grade, world language courses and unified arts are added. The school offers numerous elective programming designed to provide students with new areas of interest where they can explore their unique passions. These programs include drama club, maker space club, choir, jazz and student council, among others. Interscholastic athletics are offered for both boys and girls in the 7th and 8th grades and include track, basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, field hockey, soccer, cross country, football and wrestling. Staff members at HHS continually strive for a whole-student approach to learning, meeting the unique needs of adolescent students academically, socially and emotionally. This ensures a successful and meaningful transition to high school, built on solid relationships.

The teachers are smart, but not all of them are from Hudson or connect to students off campus.

As a current student attending HMS, I feel safe when I walk in the door because of our state of the art security systems and school resource officers. I know that I am being taught by people whom actually care about my well being and it shows through our amazing ratings across Ohio.

Test scores are high because of the parents - this is an educated group. There are some great teachers here but it is not the norm. I would estimate 4 out of 10 teachers give it their all and care. Not enough in my opinion.

Hudson Middle School is definitely responsive to inquiries about your child's performance, in a positive, problem-solving approach when you make your concerns known.

I feel my child is getting a very good education at this school. The work is much more challenging than I had at his age and far more challenging than what my friends' children are getting in other local districts. The challenges are different than what you would expect. Are they doing calculus in 7...
