The C. Fred Schroeder School is a Gold Ribbon and California Distinguished public school in the Westminster School District. Located at 15151 Columbia Ln., in the city of Huntington Beach, the school enrolls approximately 565 students and serves transitional kindergarten through sixth grade. Home of the Mustangs, the mission of the school is to provide students with a high-quality education while emphasizing positive values to build strong character and become responsible citizens. The school teaches core subjects in math, science, reading, writing and social studies. Schroeder Elementary also sponsors a gifted and talented program for students in kindergarten through sixth grade featuring a compact and accelerated learning program. Schroeder proudly supports the Character of the Month program which is highlighted by the motto, “doing the right thing even when no one is looking.” Each month a chosen character trait is the theme of the month and students who embody those traits are honored. A host of enrichment programs are offered at Schroeder, including choir, where students receive voice lessons, learn vocal composure and have an opportunity to perform. The Mustang runner’s club provides students with an opportunity to create a community of runners who enjoy physical exercise. Before and after school extended care is available and features a host of activities, including a homework club.

We love Schroeder. Both of my kids went there and we loved all the teachers. The PTA is strong and organizes great events. It has a very family friendly feel to it. Both of my kids were well prepared for middle school.

This school is amazing! My kids have done nothing but excelled in this school! The teachers are amazing and will do anything to help out your children! My youngest will be starting Kindergarten in the 2022-2023 school year and cannot wait for him to experience the joy My other 2 got out of Schroeder...

My child has had a good experience in the two years she has been there. I do wish there was more one on one teaching for students who need more help than other students in their classroom. There should always be a teacher's assistant in the classroom to help with this.

This is an amazing school! The principal Mrs. Hernandez loves this school and it shows! She makes sure that she addresses all of the children by name. I’m sad that my child will be leaving for middle school next year.
