Established in 1965, Spring View Middle School is a public school in the Ocean View School District. Located at 16662 Trudy Ln., in the city of Huntington Beach, the school enrolls approximately 650 students and serves sixth through eighth grade. Home of the Spartans, Spring View Middle School strives to provide a safe and respectful, nurturing environment for students to achieve the highest quality of education. The academic curriculum is rigorous and includes core subjects in English Language Arts, math, history/social science, science and physical education. Honors and advanced classes are offered in all core subjects. Spring View features an extensive overview of electives including a Leadership class designed to empower students to their greatest potential on campus and in society. In addition, there are elective offerings in Woodshop and Advanced Woodshop which features lectures, activities and demonstrations to build and create class projects ranging from small structures to more complex wood projects. Digital photography, yearbook and beginning, intermediate and advanced band, and concert choir are also available as options for electives. Spring View Middle offers support for students who need assistance with homework, and this is made available through the Power Hour, an afterschool homework club that meets every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. This school provides zero support for new students like a new student orientation or a student ambassador for the first week to help show the new student around and acclimate.
