I have really liked the school since I transferred in sophomore year of high school and highly recommend it to most all freshman. All of their academic programs are really good including their musical arts, which is one of the best. As a senior about to graduate, have fun to any incoming freshman.

We're a magnet school for the arts so if that's what you're interested in, you won't find any school in the district with a better program + opportunities. The teachers are excellent and the school is overall very tolerant, though there have been instances where it was difficult to get administration to act against bullying against LGBTQ. The food is kind of crap but what can you do.

The supervision staffs here is the rudest and most self absorbed individuals you will ever meet. Have no sense of fairness and will pick over everything and get you in trouble for everything. Insanely rude tone talking and act like they are better than everyone else

Daughter graduated in 2016 and got into top schools, went to UCSB. The model UN program finished first in the country her junior year! Great leadership in that program and the AP classes. Also she participated in APA freshman year which is top rated for theater and creative students. Unlike a prior...

My daughter graduated from this school. She loved every moment she spent at HBHS. We are from the low income family. We don’t live in downtown, but we never felt excluded or disconnected. APA, sports, academics- all positive experience! I wasn’t impressed with few teachers, they were still good teac...

Well, the students start off excited about school and learning but that doesn't last long. The school is very focused on sports and more importantly VARSITY sports and how many championships the school wins. The teachers like to remind the children how privileged they are and what a privileged commu...

This school is a typical high school but, with better drugs. Our son was able to navigate his way around but the administration (namely the principal) is a lemming without any actual policy. If parents nag him enough, he'll cave to whatever they want.
